Rebel Diaries Podcast Guest Guide

A big thank you for agreeing to be a guest on the Rebel Diaries Show, it is appreciated.

I have put together this simple guide to help you get the best from your time with me and reach a new audience with a high-quality show.

Before we begin, please ensure you have completed the podcast release form.

1. Check your web browser

Please use a computer with the latest Chrome or Microsoft Edge Browser.

2. Check your internet connectivity

Please use a wired connection if you can instead of wi-fi to ensure stability. Also if you have a shared connection please ensure a family member or housemate won’t disrupt your recording by streaming the latest episode of their favourite show on Netflix!

3. Set up your microphone, headphones and camera

Audio quality is one of the most important factors for a successful show so your support on this is appreciated.

If you have a dedicated microphone that would be ideal (laptop microphones usually result in inferior quality audio). If you have a dedicated headset that works too.

Headphones are highly recommended to eliminate echo.

Please use your camera as it helps with non-verbal communication during the recording I also may put video clips from the podcast on YouTube and other social media platforms to promote the show.

4. Avoid distractions

To avoid any interruptions please can you put all devices into do-not-disturb and close any applications that could cause interruptions (e.g. Slack, Teams, Outlook) and use resources on your computer.

Please also ensure you close any applications that could compete with our software for the microphone or camera (e.g. Zoom).

Please choose a quiet room you can use.

If you are in a shared building it is advisable to let your housemates know you do not want to be disturbed.

5. Joining the session

You will receive a link in advance to join the session. The software is entirely browser-based so there is nothing to install locally.

Before the recording starts you will be able to have a chat with me and run through some tests beforehand.

6. Have fun!

It is a fairly relaxed show so please be yourself, share your wisdom and most of all have fun.
